The Role: The Payroll Technician is responsible for performing a range of duties in collaboration with the payroll team to process weekly and bi-weekly payrolls accurately and in a timely manner.
Location(s): Salinas, CA; Yuma, AZ
Areas of Responsibility:
- Collect payroll records daily from various departments and manually validate them for accuracy.
- Manual calculation of total hours worked daily, entering time in the system, and ensuring breaks and meals are provided and recorded as mandated by law.
- Processing internal payroll reports for accuracy of payroll entries.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in employee timecards.
- Prepare and process weekly payrolls.
- Reconciliation of payments processed, sorting and preparing checks for distribution to employees.
- Scanning, organizing, and storing payroll records.
- Perform other payroll-related duties, including system testing for updates.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years payroll-related experience.
- High School Diploma/GED required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Ability to multitask and handle a high volume of transactions daily during demanding seasons.
- Be bilingual and bi-literate in English and Spanish with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint, JDE, UKG, and working with ADP.
- Great attention to detail, analyze, and interpret data for accuracy.
- Ability to work well both independently and with a team.
- Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to travel to other Company geographic locations as needed.
