- Coordinate day-to-day field scouting and monitoring of IPM activity for Yuma farm production

- Responsible for all crop recommendations and applications with appropriate products.
- Ensure proper crop labeling for all commodities, along with reporting.
- Coordinate with the grower for the needs and timing of applications.
- Coordinate with harvest for re-entry Interval and clear the list
- Maintain current spray records and history
- Responsible for writing and completing 1080s and product use reports
- Coordinate with the internal spray department for day-to-day application and locations.
- Coordinate with IPM on the monitoring of the quality of the application work.
- Monitor, guide, and confirm as company standard applications.
- Work with industry and representatives for chemical compliance and product
- Work with Yuma/Imperial County and local extension services.
- Ensure current practices and new product development.
- Continued research on current pest and disease issues, determine the best course of action, and educate our growers on best control practices.
- Responsible for seasonal estimating of chemical products and quantities needed for yearly purchase.
- Pre-season and post-season usage data review
- Work with the company's in-house purchasing department for reviewing and creating a bid list
- Weekly tracking of needed vs applied material and monitoring of inventory
- Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year university preferred. Pest Control Advisor State License for Yuma/Imperial County. Four years of previous field scouting experience.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Must also possess the ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide by 10's and 100's. Must also have the ability to perform these operations using units of American currency, weights, volumes, and distances.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Other Skills and Abilities: Promote a positive Company image, and support the Yuma Farm. Must be a team player with a can-do attitude and be goal-driven. Must work well with minimal supervision, take initiative, be a self-starter, have a sense of urgency, and be process-driven. Must have reliable, predictable attendance and punctuality. Must be able to work independently and in a team environment, have excellent communication and organizational skills, and have great attention to detail.

- Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is working in the following environments: warehouse, farm, nursery, and harvest sites, which are subject to inside and outside weather conditions (hot and cold temperatures), a moderate noise level, and wet and/or humid conditions.
