Hypervisor Engineer

Role- Hypervisor Engineer
Location- New Jersey (5 Days Onsite)

Responsibilities:

• Design and Implementation:
  • Design and implement robust and scalable virtualization solutions using various hypervisor technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, KVM, Xen).
  • Plan and execute hypervisor upgrades, patches, and migrations.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to hypervisor configurations and procedures.
• Management and Maintenance:
  • Monitor and maintain the health and performance of hypervisor environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex hypervisor-related issues.
  • Perform capacity planning and resource optimization for virtualized environments.
  • Implement and manage high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
• Security:
  • Implement and enforce security best practices for hypervisor environments.
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations.
• Automation and Scripting:
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts for hypervisor management and deployment.
  • Utilize scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) to automate repetitive tasks.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code practices.
• Collaboration and Support:
  • Collaborate with other IT teams (e.g., networking, storage, security) to ensure seamless integration of virtualization technologies.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal users and stakeholders.
  • Participate in on-call rotations.
• Performance Tuning:
  • Analyze hypervisor performance and implement tuning to maximize efficiency.
  • Optimize resource allocation and VM configuration.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in hypervisor administration and engineering.
  • Proven experience with one or more major hypervisor platforms (VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, KVM, Xen).
  • Experience with storage systems related to virtualization.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong understanding of virtualization concepts and technologies.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and concepts.
  • Familiarity with storage systems (SAN, NAS).
  • Experience with automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
  • Knowledge of operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant certifications (e.g., VMware Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty).
• Experience with cloud virtualization technologies (AWS EC2, Azure Virtual Machines, Google Cloud Platform Compute Engine).
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code.
