About the Role: As an OpenShift Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing containerization and orchestration solutions using Red Hat OpenShift. You will work closely with development and operations teams to facilitate the deployment, scaling, and management of applications in our enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage OpenShift clusters, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability.
- Work with development teams to containerize applications and implement CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
- Monitor and troubleshoot OpenShift environments, identifying and resolving issues to ensure optimal performance.
- Implement security best practices for containerized applications and manage user access control and permissions within OpenShift.
- Collaborate with IT security teams to incorporate security policies and procedures into the OpenShift platform.
- Document OpenShift configurations, processes, and procedures, ensuring that best practices are followed.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest OpenShift features and Kubernetes ecosystem developments, recommending improvements to our infrastructure as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Extensive experience with Red Hat OpenShift and containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes and its application within OpenShift for orchestration and management of containerized applications.
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools and practices, with experience implementing automated pipelines in an OpenShift environment.
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix administration, scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python), and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
- Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and integrating them with OpenShift.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
- Strong communication and documentation abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- OpenShift certification or similar credentials.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
