Key Responsibilities:
- Minimum 15 years of experience in aviation technical support, aircraft systems certification, or regulatory compliance, with a focus on water waste, oxygen systems.
- Experience with Type Inspection Authorization (TIA), Amended Type Certification (ATC), and First of Model (FOM) processes for aircraft systems.
- Review and analyze technical documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and maintenance manuals, to evaluate system components and ensure proper installation and functioning of WOW systems.
- Collaborate with design, engineering, and regulatory teams to develop and submit ATC packages for modified WOW systems, including required compliance documents, test reports, and technical assessments.
- Conduct thorough reviews of system changes to ensure that all technical data and evidence required for ATC are collected and accurately documented.
- Ensure that modifications to the WOW system are properly tested, documented, and aligned with updated regulatory and safety requirements.
- Oversee the testing and validation process for the first units of the modified WOW system, ensuring that all required performance and compliance tests are executed according to the approved certification plan.
- Work with operational teams, quality assurance, and manufacturing groups to ensure that the first units meet all technical and certification criteria.
- DR&O, SR&O and GTR requirements work (revisions, deviations, etc).
- Requirements process SME for IPT. FHA, SSA completion for ATC.
- Aircraft requirements development, validation & verification plans, linkage to SCDs.
- Training and guidance to new hires in the Water Waste team in FHA/SSA creation and requirement validation and verification.
- Design Practice revision guidance, oversight, and training and mentoring new and less experienced team members
- Preparation of a revision to Water and Waste System Safety Assessment, as well as managing the Water/Waste requirements validation and verification effort
- Reviewing supplier qualification documentation, generating system functional tests and preparing the system Functional Hazard Assessment
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, quality assurance, flight operations, and regulatory compliance, to ensure the smooth implementation of changes and certification requirements for the WOW system.
- Act as a liaison between operational teams and regulatory bodies to address technical issues, certification queries, and compliance concerns.
- Provide training and guidance to internal teams, including maintenance personnel and flight crews, on the proper procedures for operating and maintaining the WOW system.
Education:
- Bachelor s degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience in aircraft systems certification and technical support.
Skills:
- Strong technical knowledge of aircraft water waste oxygen systems and their components.
- Ability to interpret and apply aviation regulations and certification standards to ensure compliance with safety and operational requirements.
- Expertise in preparing and reviewing technical documentation, certification reports, and compliance data.
- Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with internal teams, regulatory agencies, and external stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and aircraft maintenance software or other relevant tools.
