Tanner Clinic has an immediate opening for a Financial Specialist.
Location: Layton, Utah
Hours: Full-time; Monday-Friday
Overview:
A nonexempt position responsible for assisting the Supervisor with analytical and decision-making functions, including reporting of financial operations, cost-accounting expenses to physicians, and maintaining spreadsheets related to physician compensation.
This is an entry-level role with no professional work experience required.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Perform specifically defined tasks related to several routine functions (e.g. physician compensation, cost accounting cost of goods sold, invoice approval, and other month-end reporting duties). Non-routine tasks are closely supervised. Accountable for timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks.
- Maintain CPT code modality assignment to ensure facility is compliant with Stark Law.
- Assist with analysis and various ad hoc reports.
- Prepare and analyze monthly cost allocations for products utilized by providers.
- Evaluate reimbursement rates and associated costs to ensure profitability.
- Perform pooling calculations while adhering to Stark Law compliance requirements.
- Review invoices and collaborate with the purchasing department to ensure cost lists are accurate and up-to-date.
- Monitor and track rebate eligibility for specialty pharmaceuticals.
- Conduct detailed cost analyses on medical procedures to properly cost account expenses.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or other related fields preferred
- Associate's degree in Accounting or 1-2 years of relevant experience
Experience:
- Excellent analytical and math skills.
- Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail.
- Good communication skills.
- Skill in dealing with multiple projects and interruptions.
- Strong organizational skills; attention to detail.
- No prior experience is necessary, and we welcome individuals with a keen interest in entering the dynamic field of accounting.
