What are the responsibilities and job description for the Admissions Counselor - Assessment (Days) position at Tanner Health?
Communicating with outside facilities, other Tanner contracted hospitals and co-workers about patient placement and disposition. Keep organized and work effectively within the required time constraints. Under general direction, coordinates a multidisciplinary approach to organize patient disposition and transportation. Manages and communicates bed availability and daily proposed versus actual discharges. Serve as a liaison within the Assessment Services team between Assessors and referring facilities. Utilize multiple programs to identify and review suitable patients for placement.

- Basic knowledge and skills for applying principles of mental health.
- Data entry skills including experience using a computer.
- Familiarity with psychological, sociological, and medical terminology.
- Organization and time management skills.
- Reading comprehension, writing, and mathematical skills.
- Skills in analyzing and evaluating information, problem-solving skills, excellent oral communication skills, and legible handwriting.
- Willingness to follow the leadership of senior staff.
