Kennel Cleaning Attendant / Dog Daycare Staff

ATTENTION DOG LOVERS! Part-time job working in an environment with dogs

Tanner's Canine Resort in Waldwick, NJ is now hiring a permanent part-time (roughly 10-25 hours a week) Dog Daycare Staff/kennel cleaning attendant to work in our facility with the dogs. Must be available on Saturday and some week days. The right candidate will be responsible for cleaning the kennel, bathing all size dogs, laundry, trash removal, cleaning the dog yard in all types of weather, must be comfortable picking up dog waste. You will be responsible for the care & safety of daycare and boarding dogs. Must be passionate about dogs & not afraid of handling large & small dogs on a daily basis. He/she will be reliable, conscientious, kind & passionate about the care & well-being of dogs. See below for job requirements and responsibilities. Experience working with dogs highly recommended. Ability to start right away. Candidates must be able to work 1-3 shifts per week depending on how busy we are. Shifts include: 7am - 12:30pm, & 1:30pm - 7pm, and Saturday 8-4. Must be available on holidays. Must have reliable transportation (not public or taxi) and able to work in the United States. This is a physical job, and standing for most of your shift is required. You will be mostly outside in all types of weather. Tanner's is open 365 days per year. This is NOT a seasonal position.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Must love dogs!
• Comfortable playing with & handling dogs of all sizes and breeds
• Comfortable cleaning up dog waste
• Comfortable mixing cleaning chemicals
• Comfortable cleaning dog suites & multiple outdoor play yards.
• Able to work in a team environment
• Able to lift 30lbs.
• High tolerance for loud noise (ie. Barking)
• At least 18 years old
• Be able to walk, stand and be on your feet for extended periods of time
• Reliable transportation to work (not public)
• Punctual
• Neat appearance

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safety of dogs and staff is 1st priority
• Oversee dog play in our indoor and outdoor play areas.
• Cleanup after dogs immediately
• Clean dog suites and play areas daily
• Bathing dogs and brushing out
• Playing/interacting/correcting dogs in your play group
• Able to identify unwell or sick dogs
• Keep kennel and play yards neat and clean everyday

Starting salary is $15.50/hour. We pay time & a half on major holidays. Tips from clients are divided among staff. Covid vaccine required for all employees.
