Job Descriptions:
Host
Hosts will be responsible for taking and managing reservations, seating guests and introducing guests to the restaurant and its menu. Hosts will also notify servers/bartenders of returning guests, and record occasions that guests mention during reservations. Although Tanners Wine Bar does not allow take- out food ordering, the host should be able to answer guest questions about our menu and hours both over the phone and in person. The host is both the first and last person our guests will interact with while dining with us, and should present themselves as both approachable and knowledgeable.
Server
The server is the primary liaison for our guests throughout the service. You are responsible for helping guests navigate the menu and to cultivate a fun, educational wine experience for which our guests will return. Any restaurant can serve great food and wine, we distinguish ourselves with our presentation and product knowledge, as well as our commitment to the absolute highest ceiling of hospitality.
Bartender
Bartenders and servers will work interchangeably throughout the restaurant depending on the shift. As such, they share many of the same responsibilities when it comes to cultivating an enjoyable and memorable guest experience. Additionally, bartenders should remember that they have the best vantage point in the FOH and need to communicate with servers if they see a guest in need of attention.
