Job Summary: We are seeking a senior-level IT Solution Architect with deep expertise in API marketplace architecture, cloud-native application design, and enterprise integration strategy. This individual will be the technical lead responsible for driving the implementation of a modern API platform, integrating with custom front-end portals, and ensuring scalable, secure, and performant solutions-preferably within a healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and lead the delivery of an API Marketplace using platforms such as Apigee, Apagi, Kong, or Mulesoft.
- Design and implement secure, reusable, and high-performance RESTful APIs, including versioning and access control strategies.
- Build and support custom front-end portals that connect with internal and external APIs.
- Define cloud-native solutions on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
- Lead architecture reviews, develop architecture decision records (ADRs), and maintain system blueprints.
- Implement OAuth2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, API gateways, and token management best practices.
- Integrate CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Work with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm.
- Utilize Backstage.io to improve developer experience and API discoverability.
- Collaborate with enterprise teams on Data Architecture, Security, DevOps, and Business Analysts.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITRUST, and HL7/FHIR standards (where applicable).
Must-Have Skills & Technologies:
- 8 10 years of experience as a Solution Architect in enterprise IT environments
- API Management: Apigee, Apagi, Mulesoft, or Kong
- API Security: OAuth2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, Rate Limiting, Throttling
- Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform (cloud-native development experience)
- Frontend Integration: React, Angular, or Vue.js with API gateway knowledge
- Version Control & DevOps: Git, GitHub, Bitbucket, CI/CD, Jenkins, GitLab CI
- Developer Platforms: Backstage.io, Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI
- Architecture Patterns: Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), API-first, Serverless
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, CloudFormation
- Containerization & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Healthcare IT, EHR/EMR systems, or working with PHI/PII data
- Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, HITRUST, and HIPAA-compliant solutions
- Past experience modernizing monolithic applications to cloud-native or microservices architecture
- Strong documentation, leadership, and stakeholder communication skills
Pay rate: $70/hr on W2.
