The Bike Trails Crew Member is responsible for the construction, maintenance, and improvement of bike park trails in a high-alpine environment. This position requires physical endurance, teamwork, and a strong work ethic to ensure trails remain in top condition for riders of all levels. The crew member will work closely with the Bike Park Manager, Director of Summer Operations, and Bike Trail Building Crew to develop and maintain trails while ensuring rider safety. Additionally, this role requires flexibility to assist with summer bike park operations, including lift loading/unloading, guest evacuations, and support for the Mountain Trail Crew as needed. The ideal candidate must be adaptable, safety-conscious, and able to work in various weather conditions.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain bike park trails, including shaping, grading, and erosion control.
- Perform daily trail inspections and maintenance to ensure safe and high-quality riding conditions.
- Assist in the construction and repair of wooden and dirt trail features.
- Support summer bike park operations, including lift loading and unloading of guests and equipment.
- Participate in guest evacuation procedures for injured riders as needed.
- Collaborate with the Mountain Trail Crew on projects and maintenance when required.
- Follow safety protocols and best practices to ensure a safe working environment for all team members and guests.
- Adapt to changing work priorities, weather conditions, and operational needs.
- Work efficiently in a team-oriented environment while also demonstrating self-motivation and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable attendance on all scheduled workdays.

Qualifications/Knowledge:
- Prior experience in trail building, bike park maintenance, or similar outdoor labor-intensive work preferred.
- Experience operating hand tools, chainsaws, and small machinery is a plus.
- Knowledge of bike park operations and mountain biking is preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.

Work Environment:
Taos Ski Valley, Inc. is often a fast-paced work environment, especially during Holidays and Peak days. TSVI is in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position may require travel on uneven, snow-packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions. Must be able to work in close quarters and with other staff.
Physical Demands of Position Include:
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform manual labor for extended periods.
- Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
