The Community Relations Coordinator supports TAPCO’s community engagement efforts by coordinating and implementing internal and external programs, events, and activities that strengthen TAPCO’s presence and partnerships within the local community. Reporting to the VP of Community Relations, this role works closely with the Marketing Team to align community involvement initiatives with TAPCO’s strategic goals and brand values. Additionally, the Community Relations Coordinator will deliver financial education training and assist in the management of TAPCO’s grants, sponsorships and events requests and TAPCO’s scholarship program to further the Credit Union’s commitment to community enrichment.

Position Responsibilities
Represent TAPCO at community events, promotional activities, and internal engagement programs, including some early mornings, evenings, and weekends.Coordinate logistics for events, workshops, and outreach efforts, including scheduling, materials preparation, and on-site management.Embeds diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and accessibility (DEIBA) into your daily workflow.In cooperation with the Marketing Team, drive the credit union's social media channels including posts, messaging, comments, and messages.Assist in the development and delivery of Financial Education courses to staff, members and community.Assist in the management of TAPCO’s grant, sponsorship and event requests and scholarship application processes, including review, tracking, and responding to applicants.Foster relationships with community organizations, schools, and Affinity groups to deepen strategic partnerships and encourage employee volunteerism.Collaborate with the Marketing Team to promote and support community involvement opportunities that align with TAPCO’s strategic goals.Assist in the planning and execution of charitable giving programs, community partnerships, and volunteer initiatives.Partner with internal departments such as HR, Branch Operations, and Business Services to increase awareness and participation in community initiatives.Monitor and report on the effectiveness of community engagement activities, including event attendance, member feedback, and overall impact.Stay informed on social and community trends and recommend adjustments to TAPCO’s community outreach strategy as needed.Provide high-quality member service and embody TAPCO’s brand values in all interactions.Assumes other duties as directed by the VP of Community Relations.Position Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications :
High School Diploma or equivalent required.Strong interpersonal skills required to represent the credit union professionally and positively and to interact effectively with members, staff, and management.Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office applications.Must possess time management, organizational and analytical skills; must be able to coordinate a variety of projects and pay close attention to detail.Ability to originate ideas in a fast-paced environment with multiple short-term deadlines.Ability to work independently and as a team player.Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and travel as needed.Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working in a credit union or financial industry.Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration, or related field preferred.Experience with Kadince Community Involvement Software or similar.Experience with data analytics tools for evaluating the impact of community relations efforts.Copywriting experience.Position Working Conditions
Primarily office-based but requires travel to local events and meetings.Regularly use a computer, telephone, and other office equipment.Some evening and weekend work is required.Moderate noise level in the office environment.Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands and / or fingers.Frequently required to sit for longer periods of time.Must be able to lift 30 poundsOccasionally standing for long periods of time.Salary Range : $23.50 - $24.96 per hour
