A private group therapy practice located in Tempe, AZ is seeking an absolute rockstar to join our team as a Billing Specialist and Administrative Assistant. This is a vital role that oversees the billing needs of the practice and supports the administrative department while also having the opportunity to work directly with a supportive and collaborative team. We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, reliable, has the ability to self-audit, and ultimately loves numbers and loves people! This person needs to work well with a team while also being able to operate independently. This position is 30-40 hours per week and benefit eligible. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with some flexibility on start and end times. We are looking for someone ready to engage in warm company culture, bring a fun and positive attitude to our team, and create an excellent client billing experience from start to finish.
Compensation starts at $21 per hour PLUS opportunity for bonuses!
Essential job duties include:
- Submit billing claims through EHR
- Follow up on denied claims
- Verify insurance benefits and provide information to clients
- Run client charges and follow up on declined credit cards, outstanding balances, etc.
- Troubleshoot to establish payment plans and come up with creative solutions to supporting clients with balances owed
- Provide additional administrative support related to scanning, copying, filing, chart audits, etc. as needed.
- Answer incoming phone calls related to hours of operation, location, session changes, etc. and transfer to appropriate department.
- Support the maintaining a clean and comfortable office environment
- Maintain coffee and water station for clients.
- Provide support to Client Care Coordinator when needed.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent people skills
- Minimum 1 year medical billing experience
- Be dependable with consistent attendance and on time arrival
- High School Diploma/GED
- Ability to use and troubleshoot technology (computer, printer, scanner)
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize incoming requests
- Detail-oriented and ability to self-audit
- Ability to work with clients in distress and who may share parts of their trauma story when calling in.
- BONUS for individuals with experience in the mental health field
