Regional Clinical Nurse Operations Consultant opportunity!! Tara Cares, a long-term care administrative support company, is currently seeking a Registered Nurse Clinical Nurse Consultant in the Riverside, Missouri region to provide consulting services to supported nursing home facilities in the Missouri area.

The Clinical Nurse Operations Consultant assumes responsibility for conducting quality assurance reviews in the assigned facilities. Responsible for auditing the quality of care and services according to professional standards of long term care consistent with company policy, federal and state laws and regulations. Provides a consultative and supportive role to the assigned facilities.

REGIONAL CLINICAL OPERATIONS DUTIES:

  • Provides support to Executive Director, Medical Director, Department Managers and Governing Body to formulate operational strategies and achieve facility objectives within planned budgets and schedules.
  • Provides recommendations to all departments to execute tasks as necessary to implement operational objectives.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and respect for the rights, dignity, and individuality of each resident in all interactions and assists with the protection and promotion of resident rights.
  • Demonstrates satisfactory level of interpersonal skill to interact with facility administration, community and government agencies, and interdisciplinary staff.
  • Identifies areas within assigned facilities for improvement or attention and makes recommendations to the Executive Director and Director of Nursing Services for corrective action.
  • Assists the Executive Director and Director of Nursing Services with the coordination of Quality Assessment and Improvement initiatives for assigned facilities.
  • Has working knowledge of facility policies and procedures for workplace safety including infection control procedures, application of standard precautions for blood borne pathogens, use of personal protective equipment and handling of hazardous materials.
  • Periodically performs teaching functions and provides guidance and support to facility staff as needed with regard to in-services or other educational needs.
  • Participates in facility surveys and subsequent required corrective action or reporting.
  • Participates as assigned in the orientation of new staff and demonstrates a positive, helpful, and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Demonstrates the ability to respond to change proactively and to handle additional projects as delegated.
  • Demonstrates the ability to lead, influence and motivate others.
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with staff members, other professional staff, consultants and residents in interdisciplinary care setting and to government/regulatory agencies.
  • Prioritizes responsibilities and completes projects within allotted time.
  • Positively contributes to process improvements and maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic work environment.
  • Addresses residents in a respectful manner.
  • Discusses confidential resident information in appropriate areas only.
  • Understands OSHA recommendations.
  • Understands HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of medical information.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing; current nursing license to practice as a registered nurse in the state(s) for which they provide consulting services and is listed in good standing as confirmed on the State Department of Professional Credentialing. B.S. degree preferred
  • Must possess proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of safety techniques
  • Knowledge of drug interactions, side effects, and incompatibilities
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of work-related experience required
  • Previous experience in a long-term care setting in a clinical consultant and/or Director of Nursing Services role preferred.
  • Must be available to travel daily to facilities in Missouri
