Tara Pharmacy, located in Orchard Park, is currently is seeking a Pharmacy Reconciliation Specialist to join our growing team. Qualified candidates must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
General Description
Under the direction of the Pharmacy Billing Manager, the Pharmacy Reconciliation Clerk is responsible for 835 electronic downloading of pharmacy cash receipts for supported long-term care pharmacy posting to include third party, retail & Medicaid cash receipt. Includes analyzing payment discrepancies to point of resolution.
Essential Duties
1. Accurate processing of electronic 835 pharmacy cash receipts.
2. Posting of third-party remittance advices to include reconciliation.
3. Downloading & balancing retail payments to the pharmacy QS1 computer system
4. Troubleshoot and resolve long-term care pharmacy charges to reimbursement.
5. Research/reconcile all third-party insurance discrepancies with timely results.
6. Responsible to meet daily/weekly/month end deadlines.
Other Duties
Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances. Performs other work duties, special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education/Training: 10 key data entry. Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
Skill(s):
- 1 year data entry experience or A/R experience
- advanced mathematical skills to include previous reconciliation work.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to create and edit Excel spreadsheets
- Excellent organizational skills
- Basic understanding of accounting methods
- Ability to meet daily/weekly/month end deadline.
Experience:
- One year of alpha-numeric data entry experience, focusing on 3rd party cash posting and reconciliation.
- One to two years of long-term care pharmacy data entry experience, with an understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, third party insurance and private pay.
- Knowledge/experience in pharmacy receivables.
- Knowledge of electronic claims submission on pharmacy billing system, with QS-1 is a plus.
