This is a very exciting time to join the Tarana family. Years of R&D and prototyping have led to the successful commercial release of our G1 products built with custom in-house designed ASICs and RFICs. We are expanding and enhancing our lab capabilities with many product variants in the coming year.
As an essential part of the System Performance Validation group, you will be responsible for expanding and maintaining the system performance validation lab infrastructure. You will own the test fixtures from the design, budget, build, verification, and troubleshooting perspectives. You will also perform RF and power consumption measurements of our products. This role provides fundamental support to the System Performance Validation team on the software release cycles, which may require modifications of fixtures to support new capabilities, and on the hardware release cycles, which qualify new hardware and ensure they meet their system specifications.
Job Responsibilities :
- Take in system requirements and turn them into detailed lab infrastructure requirements, including block diagrams and components. Create an accompanying lab budget documentation, including the vendor / link information / quotes for yearly budget approval.
- Design the lab infrastructures based on the yearly expansion plan and work with the sister lab team on the testbed location, power supply, and air conditioning requirements.
- Break down and prioritize the tasks through discussions with your manager to have a schedule for the infrastructure build-up plan and execute the plan accordingly.
- Calibrate and validate the sector path-loss and the transmit power using network analyzers, signal generators, power meters, and spectrum analyzers, and develop a sector path-loss table across the operating frequencies for each new sector.
- Independently diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve problems in the lab setup, such as cabling, networking, traffic generation, radio configuration, faulty equipment, power, thermal, and path loss calibration issues. Record your troubleshooting procedure and steps taken to identify and resolve the issue.
- Perform RF measurements using test equipment such as signal generators, power meters, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers.
- Perform DC power consumption measurement with current probe and oscilloscope and consolidate results in formal reports.
- Maintain and calibrate RF lab equipment such as power meters yearly, ensuring optimal performance and accuracy.
- Provide onsite support for employees in other buildings on campus and those who do not have access to the lab.
- Maintain a document fixture architecture, configurations, lab builds, cabling connection diagrams, and fixture calibration using MS / Google Office tools.
- Maintain an inventory tracking list by serial number for lab equipment devices that enter and leave the lab. Maintain and document the lab fixture change history.
- Maintain inventory and monitor lab supplies, generate POs, and place orders as necessary.
- Keep the lab clean, safe, and organized
- Proactively track and complete lab-related tasks by seeking timely help with a strong sense of urgency.

The salary range for this position is $130,000 to $175,000
Compensation will be determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, skill set, years of experience, and the employee’s geographic location.
