FACILITIES MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN II
Under minimal supervision, perform daily inspections of utilities along with a wide variety of skilled mechanic duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and modify mechanical equipment within a food manufacturing facility.
Essential Job Duties:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Performs a variety of routine skilled maintenance for the facilities, including, but not limited to, carpentry, painting, plumbing, pipefitting, and electrical trades work. Ensures that facilities are available for use and consistently maintained in a safe and clean condition.
- Assembles, maintains, and moves equipment, such as sinks, racking, pallet jacks, tables, chairs, shelves, and related fittings and fixtures.
- Conducts routine inspections and maintenance of heating, electrical, and air conditioning equipment; replaces filters; identifies and reports more complex maintenance needs to supervisor.
- Inspects facilities and grounds for safety and security; identifies and reports hazardous conditions and facility maintenance needs to supervisor.
- Follows safe working practices and makes appropriate use of related safety equipment as required.
- Performs custodial tasks as needed.
- Ensures all required information is documented in accordance with SOP’s.
- Assists with special events, as needed.
- Performs related duties, as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
- 1 - 3 years’ experience with food production equipment is highly desired.
- Knowledge of GMP's, HACCP, SSOP, Quality Assurance of food manufacturing is preferred.
- Must have a working knowledge of Windows based software, such as Microsoft Excel and Word, and computerized maintenance management system.
- Working knowledge of engineering drawings, electrical schematics, engineering flow diagrams and basic shop math.
- Strong electrical and/or mechanical ability with One - three years’ experience with equipment maintenance.
- Perform general building maintenance which includes but not limited to light carpentry, painting, light plumbing, changing of light bulbs, repair of minor electrical devices.
- 3-5 years’ experience with manufacturing equipment maintenance.
- 5-10 years of related experience in electrical and or mechanical.
- Electrical and or Mechanical Certificate(s).
- FMP, IFMA Certification preferred.
- 1 - 3 years’ experience in operation of forklifts, hand and power tools, and basic machine shop skills is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent would be desired but not required; however, continued training in safety, food safety, quality assurance and other job-related areas will be required.
- Strong interpersonal skills including ability to maintain effective working and professional relationships with employees, supervisors, and vendors.
Physical Requirements:
The majority of time is spent working in a colder environment. Job will require oftentimes standing, walking, kneeling, turning, reaching, climbing ladders.
- Ability to: work in cold environment with an average temperature of 34F; lift at least 55 pounds without undue physical exertion; operate a forklift is required.

Pay: $57,200.00 - $67,600.00 per year
