General Summary: Food safety and quality are the highest priorities for our company. The Quality Assurance Technician (QA Tech) will fill an essential role in the monitoring and advancement of our safety and quality programs. Through daily process checks as well as short and long term projects, the QA Tech will ensure the integrity of each batch of food that we produce. The successful QA tech will have a food production and food safety base of knowledge, a confident and tenacious character, with the ability to communicate effectively to all levels within our company.
Essential Job Duties:
- Preforms process checks throughout the production, packaging, sanitation and warehousing functions of the company, including pre-operational checks, sanitation verification, label checks, net weight checks, package integrity checks
- Calibrate test equipment
- Effectively communicating when there are deviations from standards and processes.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of QA activities
- Monitor Food safety programs
- Participate in preparation of 3rd party audits
- Maintain ongoing company compliance with all applicable regulations and 3rd party auditor requirements
- High level of organizational skills, including problem solving skills, written and verbal communication.

Capabilities :
- Ability to work weekends, evenings and overtime as requested
- Ability to work efficiently unsupervised
- Ensure compliance with all quality programs, including SSOP, GMP and HACCP
Required Education and Experience
- Detailed knowledge and track record of successful implementation of food manufacturing policies and procedures (GMP) Preferred not a must )
- Detailed knowledge and track record of successful implementation of food safety policies and procedures (SSOP) (Preferred not a must )
- Certification and training in Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) (Preferred not a must )
- Excellent knowledge of HACCP and the proven ability to write HACCP plans
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects concurrently Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to hire, train and motivate department employees that support the Company’s objectives with regard to quality and food safety Strong Microsoft Office skills
- 1 – 3 years QA food processing experience
- Knowledge of food safety principles Knowledge of USDA, FDA, FSMA and SQF
Physical Requirements:
- Lift 40lbs repeatedly
- Work standing or walking for most working shifts in cold environment.
- Perform very physical duties, including but not limited to pushing, pulling, lifting, twisting, walking long distance)
- Basic math literacy
