Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our team, TARC Construction, Inc. Established in 2003 (yes, we're marking 22 years!), TARC has been the go-to full-service provider for asphalt, steel, pavement, and concrete. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance with industry regulations.
Duties
- Perform dimensional and visual inspection of shop fabrication, which includes receiving operations, fit-up inspections, weld preparations, final welds, and paint inspections.
- Responsible for fabricated materials conforming to drawings, shop standards, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Record and maintain in‑process and final inspection records for quality assurance and production control.
- Identify and remedy drawing discrepancies with detailers.
- Coordinates with customers' inspectors during inspection phases.
- Inform foremen of defects on fabrication.
- Assists shop personnel with interpretation of drawings and specifications
Requirements
- Proven experience in quality control or assurance within a structural steel environment.
- Ability to read and interpret structural and miscellaneous blueprints.
- Knowledge of AWS and AISC codes applicable to steel fabrication and erection.
- Demonstrate knowledge of various methods of weld testing procedures
- Proficiency in using measurement tools such as weld gauges and other inspection equipment.
- Ability to analyze data effectively and communicate results clearly.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
· Use all limbs and make a variety of movements (push/pull/bend/twist) to move heavy and bulky merchandise that may weigh up to 30 pounds (unassisted).
· Possess accurate depth perception, visual focus, field of vision, color vision, and clarity of vision (far and near).
· Occasional exposure to a dusty and noisy warehouse environment where surfaces may be uneven due to cracks from forklifts, and/or slippery when wet.
· Drive a personal or work vehicle.
