POSITION SUMMARY:
The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) professional plays a critical role in supporting the financial decision-making process of the organization. This role involves providing accurate and timely financial insights, forecasts, and reports to assist in strategic planning and operational decision-making. FP&A professionals work closely with senior management to track financial performance, analyze trends, and recommend actions for financial growth.
- Prepare and manage the annual budgeting process, including gathering inputs from various departments and aligning financial objectives with the company’s strategic goals
- Develop and maintain accurate financial models to forecast revenue, costs, and other financial metrics
- Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts of financial performance, tracking progress against actual results
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis of revenue, expenses, profitability, and cash flow, identifying trends and offering actionable insights
- Analyze variance between actual results and budgeted/forecasted figures, identifying the causes and recommending corrective actions
- Perform ad-hoc analysis to support business operations and strategic initiatives
- Prepare and present monthly/quarterly financial reports to senior leadership, ensuring that the reports clearly convey financial performance, risks, and opportunities
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) that provide insight into financial performance and operational efficiency
- Assist in the development of long-term strategic plans by providing financial analysis and insights to support key business decisions
- Partner with business units to assess investment opportunities, capital expenditures, and other financial projects
- Work closely with various departments, including accounting, operations, and sales, to gather relevant data and ensure alignment on financial goals and performance metrics
- Provide financial guidance and support for non-finance teams to improve decision-making
- Identify and implement process improvements within the FP&A function to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of financial analysis and reporting
- Streamline reporting tools and dashboards to ensure quick access to key financial data
- Provide financial insights for special projects, such as mergers & acquisitions, new product launches, cost-saving initiatives, etc.
- Prepare financial analysis and presentations for board meetings and investor relations
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis with a strong understanding of financial modeling and reporting
- Experience in using financial software and ERP systems (e.g., Excel, RightAngle, Oracle, OneStream)
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on data accuracy and detail
- Ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data in a clear, concise manner to non-financial stakeholders
- Advanced Excel skills (financial modeling, pivot tables, and complex formulas)
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Industry experience in Downstream NGL’s
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for data visualization
