Responsibilities:
- Assist customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses based on their prescription and personal preferences.
- Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes and facial features to ensure proper fit of eyewear.
- Educate customers on lens options, coatings, and frame materials to help them make informed decisions.
- Process orders for eyewear, including verifying insurance coverage and obtaining necessary authorizations.
- Adjust and repair eyeglasses as needed to ensure optimal comfort and functionality for customers.
- Maintain accurate and organized medical records and patient information in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Collaborate with optometrists and ophthalmologists to provide comprehensive eye care services.
- Stay updated on the latest trends in eyewear fashion and technology.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an optician or in a related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of retail management principles and practices.
- Familiarity with medical records management, medical billing, and insurance processes.
- Proficiency in using computer systems, including electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and healthcare professionals.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of aseptic technique for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the dispensing area.
- Basic understanding of retail math for pricing, discounts, and sales calculations.
