Job Details :
Position : Civil Engineer – Site Development
Location : Columbia, SC
Type : Full-Time
Industry : Civil Engineering, Site Development

Key Responsibilities :
Design and prepare plans for civil engineering projects including site layout, grading, erosion control, water and sewer utilities, and stormwater management
Evaluate and prepare reports and studies for site development projects
Prepare construction drawings, technical specifications, and permit submittals
Analyze reports, maps, surveys, testing, and photographs to support design planning
Assist with the inspection of project sites to ensure compliance with design specifications
Regularly interface with public agencies for permitting and project approvals
Foster client relationships and contribute to business development efforts to secure future project opportunities
Collaborate with internal teams and clients to deliver quality designs and solutions
Provide technical advice on project modifications, design, and construction issues
Required Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
Licensing : PE, EIT, or Designer / CAD Tech certification
Experience : Experience or familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and hydrology software (Hydraflow, StormCAD, or similar)
Specialized Skills : Stormwater management, including the design of detention ponds, infiltration systems, and drainage systems
Other Requirements : Ability to obtain South Carolina PE / EIT license (if not already obtained)
Work Authorization : Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications :
Familiarity with the South Carolina entitlement process
Experience with site design for single-family residential, commercial, industrial, and multifamily projects
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with colleagues, clients, and contractors
