Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled welder to join our team in British Columbia (B.C.). As a Welder specializing in pressure vessels, you will play a crucial role in our organization's operations, ensuring the safe and effective construction, repair, and maintenance of pressure vessels. We require a certified pressure welder with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in pressure vessel welding.
Responsibilities:
- Perform welding tasks with precision and accuracy, following technical specifications, blueprints, and welding codes and standards.
- Carry out pressure welding on a variety of pressure vessels, such as tanks, boilers, heat exchangers, and pipelines, using various welding techniques, including shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW/TIG), and flux-cored arc welding (FCAW).
- Inspect materials and workpieces for defects, ensuring adherence to quality control standards.
- Set up and operate welding equipment, ensuring proper functioning and safety measures.
- Interpret and follow work orders, job procedures, and instructions provided by supervisors and project managers.
- Collaborate with other team members, such as fabricators, engineers, and inspectors, to ensure the successful completion of projects.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on welding equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, promoting a safe work environment for yourself and others.
Requirements:
- Valid certification as a pressure welder.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in pressure vessel welding.
- Proficiency in various welding techniques, including SMAW, GTAW/TIG, and FCAW.
- Thorough understanding of welding codes and standards, such as ASME Section IX, CSA W47.1, and AWS D1.1.
- Knowledge and experience in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
