We are looking for a clinically experienced nurse who has nursing documentation/charting skills and is a fast learner with great communication skills.

Responsibilities:
- The Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant provides clerical, secretarial, and administrative support for the Care Coordination department.
- This position may function as the point of contact for the department and is responsible for the professional and timely response to calls, messages, and the forwarding of communications to the responsible party.
- You may be assigned other duties within the scope of the role, including, but not limited to, scheduling, faxing, sorting, editing, and filing records and forms.
- You will perform these duties according to applicable hospital policies, standards of practice, and Federal and State regulations.
- You will prioritize and forward the communications to the appropriate Care Coordinator and documents in the designated EMR system.
- This coordination ensures a plan of care for patients in all stages of health needs
During occasionally blood draw visits for the patients', you will be:
- Preparing patients before drawing blood
- Explaining blood draw procedures to patients and answering any questions about the process
- Following all health and safety protocols and procedures to maintain sanitary work areas
- Gathering medical testing materials, including needles, sample vials, blood storage bags and test tubes
- Verifying patient information and labeling blood samples properly
- Accurately updating patient information in the organization’s database
- Helping nervous or frightened patients remain calm during blood draws
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of fast-paced patient care environments, and/or HOME HEALTH office experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, basic Excel spreadsheet manipulation, typing, and data entry skills
- Associate Degree or High School Graduate
- Phlebotomy license
- Excellent customer service and presentation skills are a must
- Demonstrated ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks or projects effectively
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Job Types: Contract, Per diem
