This is what you’ll do!
- You’ll provide comprehensive, multi-lingual application assistance to help eligible individuals enroll in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and other public assistance benefits such as CHIP, WIC, TANF, and more.
- You’ll educate applicants on how to successfully submit process-ready applications and supporting documents through YourTexasBenefits.com and mobile ap.
- You will collect the necessary data to document compliance with HHSC policies and processes and fulfill contractual requirements and deliverables. Attention to detail is key!
- You’ll facilitate neighbor referrals to other community support and respond to referrals received from other social service organizations.
- You’ll drive enrollment in SNAP and generate innovative ideas to raise awareness of services that support people in our community.
What you’ll need to succeed!
- Associate degree and three years’ experience in social services program coordination or equivalent experience
- Bilingual in Spanish and English? Muy útil!
- Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- You must keep confidential data secure following state and federal regulations.
- You’ll need to be able to work with diverse populations and have strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
A Day in the life:
- You will spend most of your day traveling to visit with people at communication organizations to help them enroll in benefits. This requires a valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation. We provide mileage reimbursement.
- You will find yourself frequently driving, standing, walking, sitting, lifting, and pulling up to 50 pounds.
- You’ll need work schedule flexibility with occasional weekend and evening availability.
