Description
Meet or exceed agency goals for profitable revenue growth within the assigned territory by prospecting for new customers and retaining old customers.
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed specific goals for profitable revenue growth and blind labor employment growth
- Build and maintain existing customers
- Increase sales by developing new accounts on a consistent basis
- Consistently meet sales goals
- Provide effective sales presentations
- Utilize available sales and marketing tools for presentations, sales calls, and prospecting
- Track and report daily sales activities to supervisor
- Prepare customized proposals to meet specific customer requirements
- Maintain updated, organized files on all accounts in the assigned territory
- Travel extensively throughout assigned territory to call regularly on prospective and current customers to solicit orders
- Responsible for selling and promoting products in a highly professional, ethical, and knowledgeable manner
- Partner with Optical Lab Manager for weekly touch base (concerns, questions, growth, etc.)
Qualifications
Knowledge/Skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills coupled with the ability to embrace change
- Hard working, self-motivated and disciplined
- Computer skills and working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, etc.
- Ability to analyze multiple markets or business segments
- Creative and confident with a vision for the future
- Basic understanding of the Optical Department (training available)
Education/Experience
- 2 years of sales experience required
- Government sales experience a plus
- BA/BS or equivalent experience preferred
- A proven track record of building and maintaining solid relationships with customers
Physical Requirements
- Sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, kneel, crouch, bend
- Use of hands, fingers, feel, and handle objects
- Viewing of computer monitor and motion on the keyboard and calculator
- Close vision, color vision, and depth perception
- Carry, push, pull, or lift a maximum of 50 lbs. (weight exceeding 50 lbs. must be shared with a co-worker or by using lifting equipment)
Travel/Transportation
Must have reliable transportation for commuting to work, attending appointments, and being available during required business hours.
Employment Classification
Full-time, salaried, exempt
Office Hours
Monday –Thursday (7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.) with occasional Friday and weekend hours as needed to meet objectives and position responsibilities
