Primary Duties And Responsibilities
Essential Performance Requirements*
- Researches and analyzes data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
- Researches, plans, and designs mechanical and electromechanical products and systems, such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines, and mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, or heat transfer systems
- Plans and directs engineering personnel in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment and in the development of methods and procedures for testing products or systems
- Directs and coordinates fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications
- Coordinates operation, maintenance, and repair activities to obtain optimum utilization of machines and equipment; establishes and maintains preventative maintenance schedules
- Troubleshoots equipment as necessary to identify and correct broken or failing parts and evaluates field installations and recommends design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions
- Interfaces with contractors and vendors as necessary; ensures contracted work is performed in a timely and safe manner, and adheres to all established policies, procedures, and laws
- Manages office functions, including task management, job assignments, communication with other staff and faculty, placing orders for parts and supplies, entering data for equipment, and payroll
- Ensures proper environmental conditions are set throughout the district/campus of assignment
Provides leadership for all assigned direct reports
Service Excellence
- Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
- Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
- Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
Works under the general supervision of the Facilities Manager
- Performs Other Related Tasks as Required
Required Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- Five (5) years’ working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements
- One (1) years’ experience supervising (e.g., managing, evaluating the performance of others)
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Current Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certification
- Current HVAC Certification, Maintenance Electrician License and/or Apprentice Plumbers Certificate
- Current Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification
- At least one (1) year of journeyman level experience in at least one of the areas supervised
- Vocational school training
- At least one (1) year’s working experience in mechanics and/or instrument repair
- Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships
- Skilled using computerized applications and enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
- Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations
- Ability to delegate work appropriately to faculty and staff to meet College and campus deliverables
