Essential Performance Requirements*
- Develops, writes, and edits digital content (in collaboration with subject matter experts) for internal and external websites and communications
- Reviews and proofreads digital content for accuracy, relevancy, consistency, and grammar
- Ensures digital content meets branding, style, and plain language guidelines
- Uses HTML to edit content in various digital platforms
- Edits and resizes digital images, following best practices
- Oversees website governance to ensure accurate and organized content and structure
- Implements SEO best practices to enhance content visibility and performance
- Monitors analytics and user engagement to assess content effectiveness and make data-driven recommendations for improvements
- Improves user experience by following WCAG accessibility guidelines
- Assists in digital usability testing and writing usability testing summary reports
- Partners with Manager of Web Content, Manager of Web Development, and Coordinator of Web Design to ensure digital content is presented effectively and enhances user experience
- Guides and trains other employees on best practices for writing digital content and digital content management
- Supports Social Media Manager in writing and editing District social media content
- Stays up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to suggest improvements and innovative ideas for the digital content
- Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
- Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
- Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
Works under the general supervision of the Manager of Web Content
- Performs Other Related Tasks as Required
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years’ working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements; or an equivalent combination of education and working experience
- Degree in English, Journalism, Digital Communications, Mass Communications or Marketing
- At least one (1) year’s working experience with web-based technology or digital communications in higher education
- Knowledge of User Experience (UX) principles
- Knowledge of digital accessibility best practices
- Knowledge of content management systems
- Knowledge of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
- Skilled using computerized applications and enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
- Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
- Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations
