Perform assigned clerical work such as document processing and / or record keeping assisting in the daily operations of the Admissions department. This work may be varied and may involve simple analysis, problem solving, and clerical skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Enters data for eligibility and recertification of participant files into the housing software
Prepares contract forms, the housing voucher form, and letters for updates and briefings. Requests and receives third party verifications and pulls files
Prepares client files for transfers, new admissions portability move-ins and files in central location
Assists with maintaining the waiting list and applicant files. Answers waiting list questions of caller and walk-ins
Performs timely follow up by letter or phone for verification information and clarification of prior information received
Ensures verification do not expire and that they meet HUD regulatory requirements
Assists with the required annual waiting list purge, sending and receiving letters from applicants and updating software with status and outcome
Maintains waiting list applicant files and pulls appropriate files as needed for review and processing
Advises clients of their position on the waiting list by phone and in person. Conducts interviews to update waiting list applicant information, which includes scheduling appointments, pulling files, interviewing applicants and referring to supervisor for determination of eligibility
Receives, sorts, and associates documents with the appropriate client files
Accepts waiting list applications when open for new applicants and inputs applicant data into computer
Assists with logging, boxing up and sending files to storage on a quarterly basis as well as retrieving currently stored files
Performs other related duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
NOTE : You must fill out the work history and education sections of application to show you have years of experience / education as required by hiring department or be disqualified.
Six (6) months full time general clerical experience.
If hired, you must provide proof of educational attainment
Tarrant County will conduct background checks on new hires that will include a criminal background check related to convictions and deferred adjudication in the past seven years and may include credit reports, motor vehicle records, employment records and educational attainment. A conviction or deferred adjudication is not an automatic bar to employment. Each case is considered individually.
