3PL Distribution Operations Manager
The 3PL Distribution Operations Manager is the onsite representative for tarte cosmetics, acting as the primary liaison between tarte's corporate team and our 3PL distribution center partner. This role is responsible for optimizing warehouse operations, driving process improvements, and ensures seamless execution across all activities supporting e-commerce and wholesale distribution channels (domestic & international). The ideal candidate is highly organized, solution-oriented, and passionate about efficiency, planning, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily DC activities, coordinating with 3PL, Inventory Management, Transportation, & Corporate teams
- Partner with internal operations team & 3PL to drive SLA adherence, identify performance gaps, and implement solutions.
- Lead monthly budgeting meetings with 3PL & internal stakeholders, inclusive of building an operating budget, conducting planned vs. actual expense analysis, reconciliation of monthly operating expense, and labor spend
- Lead escalation & resolution, ensuring seamless communication between internal teams & 3PL.
- Lead daily/weekly operational meetings to align daily activities at 3PL with internal initiatives
- Utilize & create daily/weekly reports to track and manage inbound, outbound, & order fulfillment activities
- Collaborate with internal teams on product launches & key promotional programs, to ensure successful execution by the 3PL
- Coordinate quality assurance activities with 3PL & internal QA team
- Work with department leaders to implement process improvements, validate expenses, and develop/update SOPs that drive continuous improvement & operational efficiencies that lead to cost savings
- Be the first line of communication between the 3PL operation & tarte corporate
Requirements:
- BA/BS required in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or Business Administration or similar.
- 5 years' experience in warehouse operations, including managing inbound & outbound activities. Beauty background a plus
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, work well under pressure, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills, with ability to proactively identify areas of improvement, identify potential challenges & devise solution-oriented plan(s) to execute
- A team player with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, detail oriented, organized, goal driven, flexible and adaptable
- Strong communication skills to actively share & champion key updates with leadership ongoing; and influence to solicit support or decision making as needed
- Experience working in a 3PL environment and managing 3PL relationships
- Advanced MS Excel skills to include pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, macros, If/Then statements, etc. Strong analytical skills & ability to manipulate data
- Ability to travel as needed (less than 20%)
- This role is onsite 5 days a week in Clayton, Indiana.
