Position Overview:
Tarter Farm and Ranch is seeking an experienced Commercial Analyst. This role is crucial for leveraging market insights and analytics to develop and implement effective pricing strategies across our product lines. The successful candidate will have a strong background in pricing analysis within a similar industry and a passion for driving business growth through strategic pricing decisions. Collaboration with sales, marketing, and finance teams will be essential to align pricing strategies with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Pricing Development: Conduct comprehensive market research to understand competitor pricing, market trends, and customer demand to formulate competitive pricing strategies that optimize profitability and market share.
- Data Analysis and Forecasting: Utilize advanced analytical techniques to model the impact of pricing strategies on sales volume, revenue, and profit margins. Forecast market responses and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of pricing strategies, providing regular reports on their impact on sales and profitability to senior management.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Engage with sales, marketing, and product development teams to ensure pricing strategies complement overall business goals and product positioning.
- Market Intelligence: Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in pricing to ensure Tarter Farm and Ranch remains competitive and innovative.
- Insightful Reporting: Deliver clear, actionable insights through regular reporting, assisting in strategic decision-making and planning.
- Product Lifecycle Pricing: Collaborate with product development and marketing teams to implement pricing strategies at various stages of the product lifecycle, from introduction to discontinuation, optimizing profitability throughout.
- Market Segmentation and Pricing Differentiation: Analyze market segments to develop differentiated pricing strategies that cater to the needs and sensitivities of different customer groups, enhancing market penetration and customer satisfaction.
- Cost Analysis: Work with the cost engineer to analyze product costs & improvement plans and assess the impact on pricing strategies, ensuring that pricing decisions are aligned with the company's financial goals.
- Promotional Pricing Strategies: Develop and evaluate promotional pricing strategies and discount programs in collaboration with the marketing team drive sales and product visibility while maintaining profitability.
- Deal Desk: Manage weekly deal desk, preparing materials for executive review weekly.
- DoA: Manage deals within a DoA framework, establishing automated processes to appropriately workflow deals through CRM.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 years of relevant experience in commercial or pricing analysis, preferably within the agricultural, farm, or ranch supply industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in data analysis and the use of analytical software (Excel, SQL, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau).
- Strong project management skills and the ability to work effectively across different teams.
- Excellent communication abilities, capable of presenting complex data in a clear, persuasive manner to stakeholders at all levels.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. Open to hybrid schedule with 3 days in office.
Physical Requirements:
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some mobility is required.
