Key Responsibilities
Policy Development and Implementation:
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments.
- Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct EHS training sessions for employees.
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the organization.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes.
- Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans.
- Coordinate drills and exercises to ensure preparedness.
- Monitor environmental impact, including waste management and pollution control.
- Ensure compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
- Maintain accurate EHS records and documentation.
- Prepare reports and metrics to track EHS performance.
- Stay updated on new EHS regulations and best practices.
- Recommend improvements to EHS programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CSP, CIH) is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience in EHS roles, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conduct training and presentations.
- Analytical skills for risk assessment and problem-solving.
- Proficiency in EHS management systems and software.
- The role may require occasional exposure to manufacturing environments, requiring the use of personal protective equipment.
- Flexibility to respond to urgent EHS matters outside of standard working hours.
