What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Engineer position at Tarvos Talent?
Tarvos Talent is currently working with a well established client in Austin, TX seeking a Network Engineer. The Network Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and intermittently improving our current network configuration and infrastructure. You will design our revamped network infrastructure with the goal of maximizing our network performance. You will also provide troubleshooting and configuration support by using your strong technical skills. This is a hybrid opportunity and will require the Network Engineer to live in Austin, TX.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, implement, and troubleshoot networks
- Collaborate with Infrastructure and Application Support teams
- Provide updates and project status to executive leadership
- Maintain and improve network services (DNS, IPAM, DHCP and network monitoring tools)
- Design and support our network systems and infrastructure
- Configure and operate routers and switches
- Monitor network performance and make recommendations based on performance analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related area
- 7 years' of experience with enterprise level network security and engineering
- Experience with documenting networking infrastructure and processes
- Experience with AWS is required
- Advanced understanding of LAN, WAN, Wireless, OSPF, BGP, Spanning Tree
- Experience with administering and troubleshooting SD-Wan
- Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals
Compensation
- $120k to $135k plus bonus
- Full benefits package including 401k
