Seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatric Consultant to work with patients 4-5 days a week on an outpatient and inpatient program in the San Fernando Valley. One day can be telehealth, but other days must be in person. Experience with patients with co-occurring substance use disorders preferred. Work as part of a team with mental health therapists, case managers, and administrative staff. Good interpersonal and patient care skills required. Hours are during the day Monday-Friday, but should be open to helping out with coverage for the inpatient unit occasionally in the evenings or weekends. Please submit resume online. CATEGORIES OF DUTIES :
- Psychiatric Evaluations
- Medication Consultations
- Participation in Medical Staff meetings and committees, as requested, including peer review
- Consultation and training of staff, as requested
- Utilization Review, when requested, including phone calls to physicians and case managers
- On Call availability, as needed
- A monthly schedule of hours working at Tarzana Treatment Center, to be provided prior to the start of each month to the Clinical Director
- Completion of the credentialing, privileging and Medical Staff application / re-application process
EDUCATION :
Current California State License in Psychiatry Medical Doctor with Psychiatric specialty
EXPERIENCE :
Minimum of two (2) years experience in evaluating and / or treating persons suffering from substance abuse.
