Position Title: Addiction Medicine Fellow
Department: Addiction/Mental Health
Reports To: Director of Primary Care POSITION SUMMARY
Provide addiction medicine services, as directed by the primary supervisor and under the direction of a physician and nurse practitioner.
CATEGORIES OF DUTIES
1. Perform addiction medicine evaluations.
2. Conduct medication support follow-up visits.
3. Recommend addiction specific psychotropic medication.
4. Review lab results.
5. Observe and participate in individual and/or group counseling and addiction psychotherapy.
6. Document in the medical record, as required.
7. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Director.
EDUCATION
Current enrollment in an accredited addiction medicine fellowship program with proof of medical liability insurance.
EXPERIENCE
Completion of a primary care or psychiatry residency program.
INFORMED CONSENT
Informed consent must be obtained when healthcare professionals other than the primary operating practitionerincluding, but not limited to, other physicians, residents, advanced practice providers (such as Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants), and applicable medical or other studentswill be involved in or performing significant tasks related to the surgery, intimate or sensitive examinations (such as breast, pelvic, prostate, or rectal exams), or invasive procedures for educational and training purposes. When the patient is not under sedation or anesthesia, verbal consent documented in the medical record, is sufficient.
