What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct Faculty Consultant position at Tarzana Treatment Centers?
POSITION SUMMARY
The contracted Adjunct Instructor position is responsible for teaching, lecturing, and supervising the
monthly online academic course(s) course(s) related to meeting the standards of the State Substance
Use Disorder and/or Medi-CAL Peer Support Certification programs during the designated term. This is
a contracted appointment and is contingent upon sufficient student enrollment per online course(s).
SALARY RANGE:
$2250 - $2500 per course
CATEGORIES OF DUTIES
1. Teach the designated course on the specified dates.
2. Maintain a minimum of 2 office hours per week.
3. Regularly communicate with students.
4. Develop learning outcome objectives, course outlines, syllabi, and other academic materials.
5. Submit finalized course syllabi before the course term to the Dean of Academics and Chief
Academic Officer.
6. Check and respond to student emails and messages within 24 hours.
7. Develop and maintain a Learning Management Course Page.
8. Submit grades in Gradebook within 4 days of assignment due dates.
9. Attend instructor and staff professional development meetings.
10.Attend a mandatory anti-racism and cultural humility workshop for educators.
11.Attend course consultation meetings with TTCC SUD Program Chair as designated during
contracted course period.
12.Participate in two mandatory in-person all-day instructor and staff retreats per academic year.
13.Host course orientations and closeout sessions.
14.Create a positive learning environment for all students.
15.Participate in the resolution of grade disputes or grievances.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Master's degree or higher in a health-related discipline such as psychology, social welfare, public
health, nursing, sociology, etc. Previous in-person and/or online teaching experience and/or work
experience in behavioral health services preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
required. Spanish speaking strongly encouraged.
