POSITION SUMMARY
Tarzana Treatment Centers College (TTCC) certificate program provides an academic and experiential setting for the study of addictions, including theories, prevention and assistance techniques, and research. Employment opportunities in this field include substance use disorder treatment advising, family and youth services, education, rehabilitation, community health, mental health, employment assistance programs, senior programs, community based non-profit agencies, and case management services.
SALARY RANGE
$27.50 - $43.50 per hour DOE
CATEGORIES OF DUTIES
1. Teach assigned courses in accordance with the course syllabi and a schedule of classes that may include day, evening, weekend, and distance classes offered at any approved TTCC instructional site.
2. Engage in development of new and creative instructional materials, including lesson plans, written course assignments, quizzes and exams related to assigned course.
3. Assist in keeping the curriculum and course material of the program(s) current.
4. Advise and mentor students and ensure the successful completion of their course work and overall program.
5. Post and hold office hours in a physical and electronic format (to include virtual office hours) as appropriate.
6. Assist with the departmental assessment and planning efforts.
7. Assist with student outreach, engagement and recruitment.
8. Participate is TTCC seminars and other Instructor development activities.
9. Other duties as assigned by Chief Academic Officer and/or TTCC Vice President & COO
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Masters in Education or Health-related field; Teaching experience including use of Power-Point for online presentations and use of a Learning Management System such as Moodle; Certification in Substance Use Disorder, Domestic Violence, Trauma informed care, Administration of Justice or Education in counseling services preferred.
