Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated General Manager to lead our team and oversee all aspects of our restaurant's operations. The General Manager will be responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient daily operations, maximizing profitability, maintaining high standards of food quality and service, and fostering a positive and supportive work environment for our staff. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires a strong understanding of restaurant management principles and a passion for the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

Operations Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, including front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) activities.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality food and service.
  • Maintain and enforce restaurant policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Manage and maintain cleanliness and organization of the restaurant.
  • Control inventory and manage food and labor costs to achieve financial goals.
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of the restaurant's budget.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.

Team Leadership & Management:

  • Recruit, hire, train, and manage all restaurant staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Foster a positive and supportive work environment that encourages teamwork and employee development.
  • Address and resolve employee issues and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Schedule staff effectively to meet business demands and control labor costs.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating excellent customer service and work ethic.

Financial Performance & Analysis:

  • Analyze financial reports and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and profitability.
  • Manage budgets and control expenses.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels.

Customer Service:

  • Ensure exceptional customer service and address customer complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with customers and build a loyal customer base.
  • Monitor and respond to online reviews and feedback.

Technology:

  • Proficiently use and manage the restaurant's Point of Sale (POS) system (Toast experience is a significant plus).
  • Utilize POS data to analyze sales trends, identify areas for improvement, and make informed business decisions.
  • Familiarity with Google Suite, sheets, doc, etc.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Restaurant management or General Manager.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing all aspects of restaurant operations, including FOH and BOH.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Financial acumen and experience managing budgets, costs, and inventory.
  • Knowledge of restaurant POS systems (Toast experience preferred).
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or a related field is a plus.
