Restaurant Supervisor/Bar Supervisor
Level: Non-management Contract: Permanent Hours per week: Up to 40 hours
Overall Objective: To provide a first-class service to guests and customers while leading and supervising a team.
Job Description Person Specification
Main Objectives
- To pro-actively manage the day-to-day restaurant and bar operations in the absence of the Restaurant Manager
- To manage shifts while on duty.
Summary of Duties
- Performs opening and closing duties
- Manages equipment maintenance
- Ensures service standards are maintained
- Ensures daily and weekly staff briefings within the team are happening
- To ensure the department as a function delivers all Restaurant & Bar Core Standards
- To ensure standard checklists are used as prescribed
- To empower team to be able to handle all positive and negative guest feedback and record correctly
- To actively consider prevention, recovery, and investigation of any complaints
- To undertake to be responsible for cleanliness and presentation of the restaurant & bar
- To anticipate guests’ needs wherever possible and promote hospitality within the facility, enhancing guest satisfaction
- To carry out quality training and coaching in a systematic and professional manner.
- To ensure company and legal standards for cleanliness is maintained within the department.
- To ensure the team are correctly uniformed, in line with company standards and understand the
- Importance of personal hygiene
- To ensure team are punctual, polite, courteous, and helpful to guests and colleagues always

- Maintains inventories. Investigates any inconsistencies, resolves any issues
- Creates new cocktails and maintains integrity of cocktail menus
- Able to prepare and serve cocktails and mocktails
- Ensures that bar is well stocked and clean
- Maintains drink recipe documentation
- Appropriately delegates bar tasks to bar staff
- Oversees bar scheduling
- Sets and maintains par levels for all bar related items
- Oversees staff, including bartenders and barbacks, and, in some cases wait staff as well.
- Initiates and maintains vendor relationships
- Aids in the hiring process for bar staff also to include coach and counsel
