Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Bartender! The Tasting Room at The Vine is an award winning tasting lounge west of Houston and we are looking for amazing people to join our team. The Tasting Room at The Vine positions offer flexible schedules, a fast paced and exciting work environment as well as the opportunity to actually ENJOY YOUR JOB! The ideal candidate will have a passion for mixology and customer service, with the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for preparing and serving beverages, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, and providing exceptional service to enhance the dining experience.
Duties
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including washing glassware and utensils.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling practices.
- Operate the POS system efficiently for processing orders and payments.
- Interact with customers in a friendly manner, taking drink orders and providing recommendations.
- Monitor inventory levels of bar supplies and communicate needs to management.
- Assist in setting up for special events as required.
- Handle cash register transactions accurately, including basic math calculations for change.
- Be able to memorize and recite menus, items served and extensive wine details.
- Able to serve and support an EXCELLENT Guest Experience!
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time.
- Although scheduling is flexible, availability to work various nights, weekends and some holidays are required. You also MUST be able to work a minimum of two Saturdays a month.
Qualifications
- Preferred one year experience in bartending, experience in high-volume, upscale service environment is a plus; preferred wine and craft beer knowledge is a plus.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems is a plus.
- Strong math skills, including basic math and retail math for accurate cash handling.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests, associates and upper management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Must have a serious work-ethic and be able to be a part of a team.
- Read, write, speak English.
- MUST have reliable transportation.
