Director, Human Resources - Tasty Chick’n:


POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Director of Human Resources is responsible for directing all HR departmental activities within this a specific market of this fast growing privately held company, in accordance with state and federal laws, governmental organizations and regulatory agencies. This HR business partner and generalist leader will be responsible for the strategic HR planning and implementation of training, compensation, benefits, talent acquisition and safety/health policies and procedures for an assigned market within the company, necessary to make Tasty Chick’n an Employer of Choice. The future incumbent must have significant employee and labor relations experience necessary to maintain and defend management rights. They serve as a readily available resource that promotes a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers while modeling and supporting the company’s core family values and principles. HR, operational and best practice knowledge within the QSR retail food industry is highly preferred.



Strategic leadership:

  • Develop and execute a HR Brand strategy aligned with the organization’s objectives and Brand Officer direction.
  • Partner with brand leadership to maintain and improve HR processes, change management, and workforce communication.
  • Lead HR initiatives that foster employee engagement and teamwork, and the company's commitment to building a TRG family culture.
  • Assist with the development and administration appropriate policies and programs for effective management of the company’s people resources, including employee / labor relations, compensation and benefit administration, staffing, relocation affirmative action, safety, sexual harassment, employee complaints, employee development and training.


Performance Management

  • Leverage & utilize PerformYard’s performance management and appraisal system to ensure managers have performance plans and are receiving performance appraisal feedback that reflects the input of the employee.
  • Ensure progressive discipline and performance management documentation is being provided to employees who are not performing their assigned responsibilities.
  • Train District Managers and Restaurant General Managers of how employee statements should properly be taken.
  • Facilitate investigations into employee or manager misconduct.

Talent Management:

  • Oversee the talent acquisition of attract top-tier operational leaders.
  • Develop staffing strategies, plans, and programs to identify talent within and outside the company for current and future positions of responsibility. Coordinates recruitment efforts with hiring managers, coordinates interview, accepts resumes and applications, interviews and assists with the final decision process.
  • Use LinkedIn talent AI to identify all GM talent in markets where Tasty Chick’n has openings and recruit them for open positions.
  • Ensure proactive sourcing of key positions needed to fill openings quickly.
  • Provide behavioral based interviewing workshops to Director of Operations, District Managers, and Restaurant General Managers.
  • Establish contingent search firm relationships that provide the speed of on-profile candidate delivery with placement guarantees.


Compensation and Benefits:

  • Help design or enhance sales incentives for field operations tailored to drive Tasty Chick’n brand performance.
  • Ensure internal salary equity is being maintained with appropriate approval of merit and equity increases in relation to external competitiveness.
  • Assist with communicating employee benefits programs, optimizing cost-efficiency, and ensuring compliance with local regulations in all operational regions.
  • Facilitate employee awareness of our Employee Assistance Program and other mental health initiatives in our TRG employee benefits package to improve employee satisfaction and retention.


HR Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure HR policies and practices comply with both global and local labor laws, adjusting strategies as necessary to mitigate organizational risk.
  • Oversee employee relations and Work Shield conflict resolution processes, addressing employee concerns and challenges before they escalate.
  • Regularly review and update compliance measures in response to changing legal and regulatory environments.
  • Adhere to legal and compliance standards outlined in TRG Employee Handbook with company policies and other legal requirements, and promptly addressing any compliance violations.


Employee Engagement:

  • Drive initiatives to enhance employee satisfaction and retention – regularly reinforcing our position that employees are our #1 priority.
  • Regularly assess employee and management pulse survey feedback and other HR data to formulate employee engagement strategies.
  • Lead efforts to improve the employee experience through training and education, benefit support services, and other program development in support of the Tasty Chick’n workforce.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from four-year accredited college or university in human resources, business administration or related field. MBA and or master’s degree in human resources, Organizational Development preferred.


Certifications:

  • Preferred: SPHR/PHR and/or SHRM certification, or equivalent certifications in Human Resources.


Experience:

  • 15-20 years of progressive experience as a Human Resources field generalist in a retail food / QSR environment.
  • Demonstrated success in driving cultural transformation, improved KPI performance and appropriate talent management across diverse markets.


HR Competencies:

  • Strategic leadership and knowledge of HR practices, labor laws, and compliance regulations.
  • Expertise in HR technology, analytics, and data-driven decision making.
  • Talent Management sourcing and selection.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and effectively present training programs to field operations leaders and implement leadership development programs.
  • Experience supporting sales incentives and compensation strategies.

Salary : $115,000 - $140,000
