Job Summary :
Tata Technologies is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Body Exteriors Design Engineer . The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and validation of body exterior components, ensuring superior quality, performance, and manufacturability. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, including styling, manufacturing, suppliers, and testing, to deliver world-class vehicle exteriors.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the design and development of body exterior components , including bumpers, fascias, fenders, grilles, trims, door systems, roof systems, and glazing.
- Work closely with styling, aerodynamics, and manufacturing teams to develop feasible and aesthetically appealing exterior designs.
- Utilize CAD software (CATIA) to create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings.
- Conduct DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) to ensure robust designs.
- Define and validate materials, manufacturing processes, and joining techniques for exterior components.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure component feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
- Perform design reviews, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and tolerance stack-ups to ensure part fitment and performance.
- Support testing, validation, and homologation activities to meet regulatory and customer requirements.
- Ensure lightweighting and sustainability goals are met through innovative design solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve engineering issues, ensuring on-time delivery of projects.
