Basic Purpose
The Paint Technician 2 is responsible for operating the E-Coat system in accordance with instruction from the Team Leader and department supervisor. The E-Coat system is defined as pretreatment, paint, waste treatment, and all support equipment including the RO system, stackers, and printers.

Responsibilities
- Perform daily operational and process controls including daily chemical testing and recording, monitoring systems parameters, and checking and recording panel paint quality tests.
- Rebuild pumps and maintain other support equipment as needed.
- Perform weekly, biweekly, and monthly tank and system clean outs as required and specified by established standards.
- Responsible for maintaining system operations within the set chemical and performance standards.
- Maintain and log all important issues in the daily journal.
- Ensure all waste treatment dischargers are in compliance with State and Federal guidelines per the training session.
- Maintain good housekeeping and follow established safety procedures.
- Follow all policies, procedures, and work instructions including Employee Handbook, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Manufacturing Operating Procedures (MOPs), Job Safety Analysis (JSAs), and Safety Manual.
- Maintain awareness of individual contribution to and impact of the quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities; report all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the proper personnel
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent experience.
- E-Coat (Electrocoating) paint system industrial experience
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability interface with a diverse workforce.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Previous working knowledge of hazardous chemicals.
- A medium to high level of math skills, personal computer skills, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Ability to use various tools and measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measure, dial indicator, and feeler gauges.
- Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and crouch for an 8-hour shift.
- Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle or feel machinery, equipment or parts and work near moving mechanical parts.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience.
