What are the responsibilities and job description for the F & P Technician 1 position at Tate & Lyle?
Finishing & Packaging Operators in our McIntosh Plant are responsible for the operation, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting of a highly automated state of the art system that produces sucralose (Splenda®). Compensation is based on a Skill Block pay-for-knowledge system.
Employees may be assigned to perform any task in the Plant which they can perform safely.

- Ability to safely offload/load hazardous chemical in compliance with all DOT requirements. This includes being able to complete all necessary training and be medically cleared to wear respiratory protection.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to safely perform the following tasks:
- Lifting of up to 50 pounds without mechanical assistance.
- Use of hand tools above shoulders, under ergonomically stressful conditions, and under application of heavy force by employee.
- Must be able to work in hot and cold temperatures, climb stairs, climb ladders, lift & carry 55 lbs, and perform other physical duties.
- Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule in a 365/24/7 operation with the flexibility to work alternate schedules during plant outages or as needed.
Starting pay for this position is $23.01.
