Tate Ornamental, Inc. is a family owned and operated company that has been in business since 1988. We pride ourselves on being a one-stop shop for design, fabrication, installation, and freight. We specialize in creating distinguished works of art from our fabrication of architectural metal, millwork, and stone. Our projects include stairways, railings, canopies, millwork, casework, stone and quartz. Ornamental metals include steel cold and hot roll, bronze/brass, stainless steel and aluminum.

We are seeking an outside salesperson responsible for sales of Natural Stone, Quartz, Recycled Surfaces, and Solid Surfaces sales to new and existing customers, homeowners, contractors, and designers in the Bowling Green to South Nashville territory. This position is primarily outside sales but requires two days per week in office and must support walk-in traffic. The Design Consultant will have extensive product knowledge and will remain up-to-date with product features and design trends. An entrepreneurial spirit, passionate for design with excellent customer service skills would thrive in this fast-paced environment. This individual is confident and has strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills to grow sales in the Granite Division.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Greets and interacts with walk-in customers to the Granite Showroom
  • Collects customer information including contact, project location, plumbing specs etc.
  • Develops and maintains rapport with new and existing customers, homeowners, contractors, and designers in the assigned territory
  • Generates sales leads, presents product, negotiates and closes sales, maintains an open communication channel throughout the process, and follows-up post installation to foster long-term relationships
  • Consults with customers to understand their needs in order of importance and identifies product preferences; actively listens and anticipates customer needs
  • Answers product-related questions and resolves complaints
  • Assists customers with product and design decisions such as material color, edges, etc.
  • Measures in-home for estimates and creates proposals
  • Grows sales; meets or exceeds monthly sales goals
  • Tracks sales and reports to GM
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Design, Professional Sales or related, preferred
  • On-the-job training, preferred
  • 5 years sales experience, preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
