BACKGROUND
Tatra is looking for a Database Administrator to support the USCG National Maritime Center (NMC)’s Mariner Credentialing Program (MCP).
This is a full-time contract role located at National Maritime Center, 100 Forbes Drive, Martinsburg, WV. Benefits are available for this position.
TASKS
- Responsible for database management and support.
- Will conduct daily and ad hoc queries of the Merchant Mariner Licensing and Documentation System (MMLD) using SQL.
- Expected to develop, modify, and manage Microsoft Access databases, Power Platform tools, and SharePoint applications to support credentialing activities.
- Shall provide training for MMLD and database system users as required.
- Expected to create and modify technical documentation related to database systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- U.S. Citizen
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Must have at least two (2) years of experience in database structuring and design.
- Should be proficient in: Structured Query Language (SQL); Visual Basic; Microsoft Access; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Power Platform; SharePoint; Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Prior experience in data migration, backup, and recovery processes.
- Experience supporting federal/government contracts is a plus.
- Knowledge of database scalability and performance tuning.
