BACKGROUND
The Web Developer will be supporting website technical development services for the USCG National Maritime Center (NMC)’s Mariner Credentialing Program (MCP).
This is a full-time contract role located at National Maritime Center, 100 Forbes Drive, Martinsburg, WV. Benefits are available for this position.
TASKS
Expected to conduct frequent website updates, track website traffic, update monthly statistics, create HTML email templates for GovDelivery, optimize search engines, storyboard/redesign pages, develop page designs, and create complex interfaces for various Content Management Systems (CMS) like Drupal or WordPress.
QUALIFICATIONS
- U.S. Citizen
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in writing code by hand
- Knowledge of Hypertext Markup Language revision 5 (HTML5), Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), Bootstrap, and Syntactically Awesome Style Sheets (SASS) systems.
- Must be capable of using industry-standard tools and programming languages to support the development and maintenance of web pages.
- Experience working with U.S. government websites, ensuring compliance with DHS/USCG digital policies.
