What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fixed Assets Accounting Lead position at Tatum by Randstad?
This individual will look for ways to improve the process of recording fixed assets on a monthly basis and ensure these process improvements are executed and lead a team of 4.
Responsibilities:
- Become the subject matter expert on the Capitalization Policy for Tangible Fixed Assets, ensuring deep understanding and adherence.
- Lead and oversee the fixed asset team, providing direct supervision and guidance to team members.
- Review journal entries prepared by team members to ensure compliance with the capitalization policy, verify accuracy, and assess the need for process improvements.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during quarterly and annual reviews/audits to support assigned responsibilities.
- Act as the key liaison for the Fixed Asset department across the company, promptly addressing any questions or issues that arise.
- Ensure GAAP compliance in the execution of assigned accounting duties and responsibilities.
- Support month-end closing activities, including preparation of journal entries and monthly account reconciliations.
- Implement and uphold internal controls within assigned processes, ensuring robust financial reporting practices.
- Provide ad-hoc accounting support and analysis to other departments as needed in relation to fixed assets.
- Identify and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
- Foster team development by supporting training, professional growth, and providing performance coaching through feedback and management discussions.
Required Education/Skills:
Minimum of 3 years in public accounting, auditing, consulting, or equivalent experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business
Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally, manage multiple projects simultaneously and manage competing priorities.
Critical thinking capacity, with the ability to think high-level yet execute at the detail level.
Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, meet strict deadlines, and manage multiple tasks in a demanding environment.
CPA Eligible or working towards obtaining certification
Demonstrated initiative-taker, with strong organizational skills, able to work independently
Proficiency with Oracle, Hyperion and Discoverer
Understanding of analytical tools: Alteryx, Robotic Process Automation, etc.
Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
