Position Summary:
The Thermoform Designer is responsible for designing assigned projects, managing schedules, and ensuring that all necessary information for the design process is obtained to meet or exceed customer expectations. This role involves collaboration with various departments, including Product Design, Applications Engineering, Tooling, Project Management, Prototype, Quality, and Manufacturing, to ensure successful product realization.
Duties
- Lead & Innovate: Own the design process for projects, from concept development to customer reviews and approval.
- Collaborative Problem-Solving: Partner with experts across Product Design, Engineering, Tooling, and Manufacturing to ensure designs are executed flawlessly.
- Design for Excellence: Develop cutting-edge solutions that meet customer needs while optimizing manufacturability and efficiency.
- Stay Ahead of the Curve: Design tooling, create prototypes, and oversee the development of work instructions and BOMs (Bills of Materials).
- Quality Control: Ensure prototypes and first articles meet customer specifications, and manage any engineering changes throughout production.
- Make Your Mark: Be the go-to expert in your team for design reviews, ensuring that all projects are completed on time and to the highest standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in CAD software, SolidWorks is preferred
- Manufacturing CAD Design experience is required
- Packaging experience is a plus
- Automotive Industry experience is a plus
- Thermoforming experience is highly preferred
