Production Supervisor - Manufacturing - Austin, TX
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Supervisor to oversee daily operations in our client's manufacturing facility in Austin, TX. Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Supervision: Directly supervise hourly production workers, including managing shift schedules, training, and performance evaluations. Foster a positive and productive work environment while ensuring adherence to safety protocols and production goals.
- Production Planning & Execution: Manage daily production orders and ensure tasks are completed within set timeframes. Allocate resources effectively, monitor production times, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Quality Control: Maintain product quality standards in line with ISO 9001 requirements. Conduct inspections and collaborate with the engineering team to ensure the final product meets both customer specifications and internal standards.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all operations adhere to OSHA and local safety regulations. Proactively address any safety hazards and promote a culture of safety among the team.
- Process Improvement: Evaluate production processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement strategies for increased productivity and reduced waste. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Machine & Equipment Management: Coordinate machine maintenance schedules and ensure equipment is in optimal working condition. Work with engineering to resolve any technical issues that may arise.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (engineering, logistics, and customer service) to ensure smooth production flows, accurate documentation, and timely delivery of finished goods.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Logistics, or a related field, or a combination of education and relevant work experience is strongly preferred
- Experience:
- 2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is required
- Experience in a unionized setting is a plus.
- Knowledge of steel, wood, corrugate, or similar materials is an asset.
- Skills: Strong leadership abilities, with a focus on team development and performance management. Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills. Experience in process improvement and quality control.
- Certifications: Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 is required
- Language Skills: Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
